Ashutosh Kaushik wins Bigg Boss 2
After spending 3 months cooped up in the Bigg Boss house, Ashustosh Kaushik was declared winner of the reality show, Bigg Boss-2. He will walk away with a cool prize of Rs 1 crore.
Ashutosh was nominated for eviction by the housemates three times but each time his public following saved him. His early morning dance on a wake-up song along with his humorous antics and one-liners became his trademark and a major source of entertainment for the viewers.
Though Ashutosh shared a good relationship with almost every participant, his proximity with former Miss World Diana Hayden raised eyebrows inside the house and caused much flutter in the media.
Both of them were often accused of being biased towards each other and remaining cut-off from the rest of the housemates.
Ashutosh was also the winner of ‘Mr. Honest’ title, which was conferred on him by “Bigg Boss.
The grand finale - called “jumbo finale” saw the presence of the show host, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, and superstar Akshay Kumar - who was there to promote the animation film, “Jumbo.’
Actor Akshay Kumar announced the winner here in presence of the show’s host, Shilpa Shetty, and all the contestants except for two.
“I thank Rahul Mahajan for his wishes and support,” Mr. Kaushik, who hails from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, said. Mr. Mahajan, who recently quit the show after being accused of violating house rules, had predicted that Mr. Kaushik would win.
“I don’t know what I would do with the prize money. I will let my parents decide that,” Mr. Kaushik, who owns a ‘dhaba’ at Saharanpur, said.
Model-actor Zulfi Syed was declared the second runner-up, while Raja Chaudhry became the first runner-up.
The second season of “Bigg Boss”, the Indian version of the internationally acclaimed show “Big Brother”, started Aug 17 with 14 newsmakers including controversial names like Rahul Mahajan, Monica Bedi, Jade Goody and Sanjay Nirupam
