There are 577 Health Centers in Nashik. Out of these 321 will be modernised. A project costing 9.63 Crores has been taken up by the Health Department of the Maharashtra Government. Mr Vishnupant Mahisdhune the Chairperson of Health Committee gave this information.

He said that Health Centres were located all over the district. But most of these lacked facilities for child birth, which was a major problem especially in the rural areas. There was a requirement of creating basic infrastructure like an independent room with toilets and beds and all other facilities required to execute the birth of a child. Many rural women had suffered due to the lack of these rudimentary facilities.

Mr Vishnupant Mahisdhune had promised to create these facilities when he took over as the Chairperson of the Health Committee. This project could see the fructification of his dreams.
