Roshan family condemns Sampath
In an unexpected twist of fate, <a href=‘http://www.newsline365.com/tag/bollywood‘>Bollywood</a> filmmaker <a href=‘http://www.newsline365.com/tag/rakeshQXYXQroshan‘>Rakesh Roshan</a> got entangled in a legal cobweb, prior to the release of his ambitious film, <a href=‘http://www.newsline365.com/tag/krrazyQXYXQQXFXQ‘>Krrazy 4</a>. <span id=“more-587“></span>
A relatively unknown man Ram Sampath had accused the Roshan Family for copying his <a href=‘http://www.newsline365.com/tag/music‘>music</a> score for a popular item number in the film. The legal notice came just before the release of the film so the Roshans were put into a fix initially.
The Roshan family openly expressed their resentment over the issue. According to them they got permission for the song from <a href=‘http://www.newsline365.com/tag/sonyQXYXQericsson‘>Sony Ericsson</a> much before this man sued them. The timing was uncomfortable as the film was ready for release the following day and the Roshans chose not to delay it. They claimed that during their tenure in <a href=‘http://www.newsline365.com/tag/bollywood‘>Bollywood</a> they have maintained a clean track record.
They said that the <a href=‘http://www.newsline365.com/tag/music‘>music</a>ian had done this for the sake of cheap publicity. Ram sampath, the accuser did not approach the family but chose to drag them to court. Hrithik’s message to him could not resolve the situation. However, the senior Roshan expressed his view that if he had some time in his hand, he would have fought back.
In corporate culture even if a person is addressed well before in time they choose to ignore as Roshans did till they were slapped by a legal bnotice on the fl;ace - they were probably brushing off the thing as something trivial. What happened is a good lesson for Roshans as to respecting copyrrights as well as paying attention to issues in time and not dismissing them as trivial. Also first Mr Rajesh Roshan claimed that the song was his creation and then they claim they took a NOC from Sony Ericson so who is lying here? Rakesh or Rajesh? Since the song wasnt original if you had to take a NOC for it , right?
