In a spectacular opening night of the IPL matches in Chinnaswamy stadium of Bangalore, the home team of Vijay Mallya’s Royal Challenger’s were demolished by Shah Rukh Khan’s Calcutta based, Knight Riders.

The Knight riders won by 140 runs, and displayed a tremendous performance. The match was dominated by the performance of Knight rider’s Kiwi team member Brendan Mccullum who showered the stadium with a scintillating innings full of sixes and fours.

Shahrukh Khan was himself providing entertainment on the sides. Shah Rukh was seen dancing, shouting and cheering for his team. He jumped with every four and sixes hit by his players. He even popped champagne after the victory of his Kolkata Knight Riders.

Shahrukh Khan’s wife Gauri, his two children and industry friends Arjun Rampal, Juhi Chawla, Shilpa Shetty, Zayed Khan, Karan Johar were also seen cheering for his team

Reviewing the teams, The Knight Riders seemed to have more heavy weights and were well bonded while Royal challengers seemed to lack firepower.

The inaugural ceremony was remarkable. Fireworks and some amazing performances heated up the Bangalore Chinnaswamy stadium. IPL has had a good start. But the fate of 59 matches hangs in the balance as one wonders if the excitement of the first match will continue.

Today, Punjab Kings will take on Chennai Supers Kings and it is expected to be an exciting game. On April 20, Knight Riders will take on Deccan Chargers in Kolkata and this will be a match to remember in Eden Gardens.
