Nashik. The Police Commissioner Mr Roy has taken up cudgels to remove encroachment from the city.

The Nashik Municipal Corporation acted through the police very swiftly. Encroachment had become a major problem in the city and had started affecting the traffic very seriously.

The police arrived in Ravivar Karanja, the most congested square in the city at 6 AM in the morning. After driving out all the hawkers in the area the operation gained momentum. Sign Boards of political parties were also dug out using JCBs and cleared.

Unautorised hutments and shops were demolished. Some political leaders and local residents were seen opposing the clearance of encroachment. But the police did a fine job in overcoming all these irritations.
