In a huge scoring match the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the Deccan Chargers by 23 Runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bat first. The day clearly belonged to S Ganguly. Ganguly hammered 91 runs of 57 balls. He was supported very well by DJ Hussey who scored a quick 57 in 29 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders made 204 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Chasing the mammoth total was never going to be easy. With some big hitting by Gilchrist the Deccan Chargers put up a stiff challenge. Venugopal Rao scored a superb 71 not out in 42 balls. Deccan Chargers could manage only 181 runs and lost the match by 23 runs.

Ganguly was the Man of the Match.
