Now Bharti is also rolling out Apple’s iPhones in India

Bharti Airtel, India’s leading mobile service provider, is now all set to bring the sensual Apple\’s iPhones in India before the end of 2008. It could be a super festival bonanza for the Indian communities! Else, the company may declare launching the next generation communication gadget on the eve of implementation of sixth central pay commission recommendations to tap the market money. iPhone, itself a much hyped product, has already generated enough enthusiasms amongst the high-end Indian mobile consumers after it’s release in 2007 overseas.

Bharti Aitel has recently declared reaching an agreement with the Apple through it’s 30.5% stake holder SingTel, a leading telecom service provider in south-east Asia, based in Singapore. SingTel, along with India, is also planning to roll Apple\’s iPhones in all the countries where it has telecommunication rights. Before the declaration of Bhart-SingTel, Vodafone had already expressed it’s interest in providing iPhones to all it’s existing Indian customers by the year end.

Apple\’s iPhones are the latest ripples in mobile telephony. The exotic hi-fi gadget from the Apple is a classic integration of iPods with the desktop’s capability of seamless web browsing using super sexy touch navigation panel. The lightweight mobile handset, not yet available in open Indian market, has already made hundreds of young Indians ‘Diwana’.

Neither Bharti, nor Vodafone, has yet made public about the launch price and other features that will be available with the Indian versions of the Apple\’s iPhones. Present cost of the model in international market is said to be as $499 for a 4 GB set and $599 for an 8 GB set. After entering two leading companies in to the foray, price of the product is likely to be reduced. Now, how the companies are going to implement their respective projects is yet to seen. In any case, the consumers will ultimately be benefited out of the business competition.
