Contrary to reports, Mani Ratnam’s much hyped film “Ravana“, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, is not based on the epic “Ramayana“, said a source.

“The film has nothing to do with the epic ‘Ramayana‘. It’s an urban story,” the source added.
Ratnam has tried to keep the story under wraps and is taking precautions while shooting. First he shot the film in the jungles of Kerala and now he is shooting in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

Mean while reports are on that Abhishek Bachchan has been picturised in a song and dance number that also features 500 dancers.

Mani Ratnam is doing the shooting of the song ‘Kata Kata Mara Mara’ with Abhishek Bachchan and Ravi Kishen in Jhansi. The choreographer Ganesh Acharya has given training to 500 dancers who will perform in the song.
