Rakesh Roshan’s Kites sees the pairing of son Hrithik Roshan with Latino beauty, Barbara Mori.

According to sources, producers of the film - Filmkraft have sold the film to Anil Ambani’s Big Pictures for a little over 1 billion rupees - approximately a whopping 100 crores, making it the most expensive distribution and marketing deal in the history of Hindi cinema.

Prior to this film, the blockbuster hit ‘Ghajini‘ held the record for the most expensive distribution deal struck by Studio 18, at rupees 90 crores. Other films which have had high figure deals include ‘Om Shanti Om‘ at 73 crores and ‘Singh is Kinng‘ at rupees 65 crores.

Though he refused to comment on the sum, Roshan said the valuation factored in his “goodwill’’ and the price of his son, superstar Hrithik. A romantic thriller directed by Anurag Basu, it also stars Mexican actress Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut.

Blogs and gossip columns have been abuzz with talk of steamy scenes and reports that Rakesh Roshan was asked to leave the sets during some particularly sizzling sequences. The film is likely to be released around Diwali.
