Surprise hit Slumdog Millionaire has already made over US dollar 217 million all over the world.

Fox Searchlight has been quoted as saying that the Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire has already made around USD 217 million in the international market.

They are expecting it to surpass $250 million by the end of its theatrical run.
The movie is based in the Mumbai city in India and is a story of a boy who is born in slums. He went on to win the top prize on the television show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while he is searching for his love.
Slumdog Millionaire made big news when it won eight Oscars last month including the ones for best picture and the best director for Danny Boyle.
The success of Slumdog Millionaire also augurs well for a Bollywood- Hollywood synergy in the future.
India’s movie industry is poised to take advantage of the success of “Slumdog Millionaire” and expand globally, experts say.
