Shah Rukh Khan has roped in Hollywood scriptwriter David Benullo for writing the script for his ambitious new venture Ra.1. This science fiction movie will be unlike any other seen in Bollywood and Shah Rukh is apparently making it for his little son.

The movie will be directed by Anubhav Sinha who has directed movies like Tum Bin, Cash and Aap ko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai in the past. Since Indian writers don’t have much experience of penning down such movies, Shah Rukh got writer David Benullo from Hollywood, who has earlier written the screenplay of the movie ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, and is script writer for movies ‘Hallowed Ground’, ‘Cupid’ and ‘Shadow Man’

Ra.1 will have Shah Rukh playing the role of a superhero and thus the movie will have lots of video effects and sound effects. Anubhav confirmed that David was hired so that he could do justice to the script. Ra. 1 could not be dealt like a normal Bollywood movie he added.

The movie will come from SRK’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment and is slated for early next year release. Reports even convey that the movie can be co-produced by a Hollywood studio, to ensure its quality as a movie with high-tech specialized effects.
