Shoe chucked at Jeetendra
Ever since a shoe was hurled at American President, Barack Obama, it has become a popular trend in India.
The latest victim of shoe- attack is Bollywood actor Jeetendra who was campaigning for elections at a Congress Road show in North Maharashtra on Tuesday.
Jeetendra was addressing a show that was organized by the Congress candidate Manikrao Gavit in the town of Nandurbar, when someone from the crowd chucked a slipper at him.
The actor was taken aback by the incident but it is unclear if the slipper hit him.
Jeetendra is a friend of former minister Amrish Patel of the Congress who is contesting from Dhule parliamentary seat.
Patel said that Jeetendra was his family friend and had come to campaign for him on Tuesday morning and also went to adjoining Nandurbar.
Patel downplayed the slipper throwing incident and said, “the man looked like a drunkard. But, I feel that the act was planned”.
The congregation gathered was over 3,000 in strength, so figuring out who actually threw the slipper proved to be extremely difficult.
However, party activists immediately pounced on the offender - identified as Dilip Ingle - and took him away
