The co-branding and release of mobile handsets in conjunction with movies is a continued trend. 5800 XpressMusic Star Trek edition has been released in UK just prior to the release of the movie on 08 May. The phone will be available on instalments of £25 per month exclusively through Phones4U.

The handset is available in Red, Blue, Black and Silver colors. Star Trek content is the USP with screen savers, wall papers and eight ringtones. It has a 3.2 MP camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, a touchscreen, GPS and 8 GB micro SD card. It will be available on popular networks like Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile and Orange.

The co-branding is intended to benefit both, the movie as well as Nokia. The media released through the handset is expected to create adequate excitement so as to generate interest in the movie. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has already touched a sale of almost one million units per month. The Star Trek edition is also expected to do well.
