Yahoo uses Buzz content on India homepage
After its popularity in the US, Yahoo has decided to publish Yahoo Buzz content on its Yahoo India homepage. India is the first country homepage for this content sharing arrangement.
Yahoo Buzz has content from Bollywood, Sports, Entertainment, News Health etc and uses over twenty thousand sources for the content. The networking site permits submitting and voting of new stories. Thus it can be called a social news site. The active publishers presently are Times of India, NDTV, India Today Group, Zee, A2 Media and One India.
The service is identical to Digg and enables submission of content. India has been selected since more than sixty percent of Internet users are below 25 years of age. This segment is the right audience for social news and networking sites. The selection of posts is based on content and votes received by the readers rather than an editorial selection.
The larger aspiration of Yahoo is to target advertising on the site. So very soon you may expect advertisements on Yahoo Buzz.
