The Nokia 6600i was launched in the international market in May. The phone has now been earmarked for release in the Indian markets in the month of Jun. This is a series 40 phone and is being said to be the slimmest 5MP slider camera phone in the world.

The 5MP camera phone has a 8X digital zoom. The auto focus and the dual LED flash enables taking of decent pictures. With OMA DRM 1.0 and 2.0, and Java MIDP 2.0 sharing of images and video is possible. The phone supports Java applications and has an XHTML browser. Opera Mini can be installed for better browsing. It has Bluetooth, FM radio, a stereo headset, a music player with support for MP3, AAC, AAC+ and WMA. It has a storage of 1 GB that can be upgraded to 16 GB.

Nokia Maps have been integrated to help you navigate in unfamiliar places. It is capable of 3G connectivity and with the proliferation of 3G services, in the Metros at-least, is likely to be popular. The pricing of the phone has still not been revealed. With its brushed steel covers and chrome center key it is also quite high on the style quotient.
