iPhone 3G S to be launched in India
The world famous Apple phone, the iPhone, was launched with much fanfare in India in 2008. Critics claim that it failed to make a severe impact. However Apple is all set to launch the 3G S phone in India with Bharti Airtel and Vodafone. India is the only country where Apple has a tie up with two operators.
The launch will take place in August. The new iPhone 3G S has faster data speeds, a new camera, video recording, compass and voice control. The phone was unveiled in US earlier this week.
Apple will be launching the iPhone 3G S in 31 other countries in July. This was communicated by Apple through guidance issued by the company. The company said that the phone will be released in 10 countries in June and 32 other countries in July.
The speed of the new ‘iPhone 3G S’ will be twice than the previous iPhone 3G. It supports OpenGL 2.0 standard. It has superior graphics enhancing gaming and video experience. The Voice Over feature reads the text that appears on the screen. It supports 7.2 Mbps HSDPA for faster and smoother networking. The phone runs on iPhone 3.0. OS which enables a whole lot of new features like cut, copy and paste, MMS, spotlight search, landscape keyboard for mail, messages, and movies and apps from the App Store. In addition to this it offers a long battery life.
The pricing of the 16GB model is approximately Rs.9, 440 and that of the 32GB model is Rs.14, 180. It will be a tough competition to Nokia M97.
