Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja has been detained at Oshiwara police station in Mumbai on Sunday night after his domestic help alleged that he had raped her.

The 18-year-old victim was sent for medical examination on Sunday night and the preliminary reports suggest she was sexually abused.

“FIR has been registered. The case is filed against Shiney Ahuja. She (the victim) has alleged rape and investigations are on,” says DCP, Niket Kaushik
“ However, so far we have only called him in for verification of facts,” he said.
Police were questioning Ahuja at a police station in suburban Oshiwara where the 35-year-old actor lives. Police say the victim was employed at Ahuja’s home for the past one and a half month.
Ahuja made his Bollywood debut with the critically acclaimed “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi” in 2003.
He is married and has a daughter.

He has also been known for his temperamental nature on film sets and this controversy may put roadblocks in his film career.

Ahuja will be produced in the Andheri court on Monday.
