iPhone 3G S battery overheating
After the dream run since the launch, the iPhone 3G S has been reported to be having a battery problem.
Some users have reported high battery temperature. The temperature is high enough to result browning of the plastic covers at the back of the phone.
Aaron Vronko of Rapid Repair said “My guess is there’s going to be a whole lot of batteries affected because these [iPhones] are from very large production runs. If you have a problem in the design of a series of batteries, it’s probably going to be spread to tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, and maybe more.”
However a poll conducted by Wired.com has feedback that may not be so alarming. A poll conducted via Twitter has shown only one report out of 21 of battery overheating. However poor battery life is an issue reported by most users.
Battery overheating has often led to recall of gadgets and laptops. Yet it is believed to be a more serious issue with laptops rather than cell phones. The next few weeks will tell the trend in case of iPhone 3G S.
