Kambakkht Ishq reaches Top Ten in UK
Kambakkht Ishq has come like a breath of fresh air in the flop-beleaguered Bollywood of recent times.
It has climbed to number 8 position in the UK charts.
Directed by debutant director Sabbir Khan, starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, it is creating waves at the box office. The film was released on July 3 with 2000 plus screens worldwide and even in Pakistan with 15 prints. Eros International, the production house, has announced that the film has grossed over USD 6.7 million in India and USD 2.9 million overseas.
Kambakkht Ishq is a comedy film which changed the flop trend in Bollywood to big success. The film has made a grand success in its first week with huge collections, more than any other Bollywood film. It has received good reviews and the credit goes to the director Sabbir Khan.
Pranab Kapadia, President of Eros International, confirmed the reports, saying, “Kambakkht Ishq was well received in UK. It has secured No. 8 position in UK in spite of big releases like Ice Age and Public Enemies.”
