Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt vie for IPL Franchise
After lots of speculation, Salman Khan has confirmed that he is going to bid for an IPL team.
He knows the kind of money it will generate with the involvement of multinational companies through logos, sponsorships etc. However, he said that he couldn’t afford to buy if the bidding goes up to 400 crores as rumored. He added that he didn’t have that much of money.
The IPL bug has bitten more Bollywood celebrities. After Salman Khan’s desires and denials, it’s Sanjay Dutt who has joined the league.
Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt is believed to have met Lalit Modi and expressed his desire to own an IPL team. According to sources, Dutt wanted to know about the modalities of acquiring an IPL team and he met Modi in this connection. Dutt also told media persons that he was going into the pros and cons of owning a cricket team.
If Salman and Sanjay buy IPL teams, than they have to take on Shah Rukh Khan on the field, who currently owns Kolkata Knight Riders. Bollywood celebrities like Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty and Juhi Chawla also co-own various teams
