After a quiet wedding in Khandala, Maharashtra on Sunday, newly weds Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra hosted a grand wedding reception in Mumbai on Tuesday night.

The couple left no stone unturned to make their reception a grand one. While the wedding was conspicuous by its absence of star power, Tuesday’s party at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt was something else.

The evening kicked off with arrival of the stars and the grand entry of the newly weds who were accompanied by family members.

The frenzy outside the hotel made it clear that this was going to be a star studded night.

Shilpa’s co-star in Dus and Phir Milenge Abhishek Bachchan couldn’t make it. But his gorgeous wife Aishwarya Rai and father Amitabh more than made up for his absence.

It seems the Bachchans and the Kundras are going to be neighbors as Shilpa and Raj are moving to Juhu, a suburban area in Mumbai where Amitabh Bachchan’s famous building Jalsa is located.

The who’s who of Bollywood was present on the occasion to wish the newly married couple. There was a huge buzz in the banquet hall when she Shilpa and Raj arrived hand in hand. Shilpa donned a golden outfit designed by Tarun Tahiliani and with matching jewellery from Anmol jewels. Raj Kundra sported an impressive black Sherwani.

The impressive guest list included the Bachchans, Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri. Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Roshan, Rani Mukherjee, Fardeen Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Sameera Reddy, Amisha Patel, Kangana Ranaut, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Manish Malhotra, Karan Johar, Vivek Oberoi, Govinda, Rekha and Jaya Pradha among others. IPL boss Lalit Modi and Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi were also present on the occasion.

Shilpa and Raj made sure that their guests could have no complaint about the food. The menu included a selection of Indian, Western (Italian) and Asian (Thai and Chinese) cuisine served at live counters. The big attraction of the evening was the nine-tier wedding cake weighing over 80 kgs consisting of chocolate, candied fruits, fruit peels and nuts. The decoration chosen by Shilpa and her sister Shamita Shetty, consisted of flowers and butterflies. RDB and Rishi Rich performed free of cost during the reception
