Though critics may have slammed his film, director Priyadarshan may be laughing all the way to the bank.

After all, his De Dana Dan has grossed Rs.23 crore approximately over its first weekend. The film did fantastic business in CP Berar and Rajasthan while North was also very good. The other circuits also saw good returns

The daily breakdowns were 6.25 crore on Friday, 8.50 crore on Saturday and 8.25 crore on Sunday. The business was fantastic on Saturday and Sunday but the film was let down slightly by its Friday business which was good but a bit lower than expectations.

De Dana Dan will have to sustain the good show on Monday to become a hit as the film has a high cost. The first week business can come in anywhere in the range of 34-37 crore depending on what happens on the weekdays. The film has managed to rake in big moolah in the overseas market as well.

De Dana Dan had a huge first day in U.K. as it grossed £100,000 approx on Friday. This is the second biggest first day of the year after Love Aaj Kal. The film may have a £350,000 plus weekend in United Kingdom. Approx Friday business for some other major releases this year are - Love Aaj Kal - £120,000, Kambakkht Ishq - £83,000, Blue - £58,000, Kurbaan £45,000, London Dreams - £45,000.
