He is a jack of all trades: He’s a much-acclaimed actor. His maiden production, Lagaan, won him an Oscar nomination. His debut as a director got him rave reviews. And now, Aamir Khan has turned designer with T-shirts for his forthcoming film, 3 Idiots, which is being hyped as the big Christmas attraction.

According to a source, “Between shots, Aamir would sometimes doodle on the pad. Some of these doodles were amazing and complimented the theme of the film. Everyone who saw the designs loved them. And Aamir came up with the idea of launching his designer range of Ts. He has a knack of connecting with the youth. The T-shirts mirror a funky attitude and an irreverent outspokenness.”

When the team was discussing the marketing and promotional strategy, Aamir separated himself from those discussions and got busy in designing clothes. By the time, they finalized the deal, he made 10 attractive designs. While taking about endorsing product, Aamir said, “When I endorse a brand, I do it as Aamir Khan. But for 3 Idiots, the characters, the look of the film, the message it conveys has to be kept in mind when formalising any tie-up.”

This is not the first time that Aamir suggested clothing. He has also designed for Rang De Basanti and Ghajini.

The film is slated for Christmas release
