Bollywood bombshell Mallika Sherawat has bagged a role in Doug McHenry’s Love, Barack, a political romantic comedy, which is inspired from 2008 US presidential election. She will be staring opposite Avatar star Laz Alonso. She will play Obama’s coordinator Aretha Gupta.

The story is all about 2008 US election, where Democrat Aretha (Mallika Sherawat) falls for her Republican counterpart (Alonso), a handsome, dynamic African-American working for the local McCain office. Mallika Sherawat is all excited about this project and says “Laz Alonso is a talented and exciting actor. I’m very lucky to be working with him.”

Gary Goldstein has penned the script and Francis Kenny will be the director of photography. Veteran actress Ruby Dee, Gerry Bednob and Loretta Devine are also doing the lead role in the film.
