It is great news for BCCI and the IPL. The Indian cricket team now has 2 extra days to promote IPL after India ended the second test match in record time.

With most of the international players missing out on some part of the tournament, IPL could very well be a domestic tournament with guest appearances from international players.

Ishant Sharma will not be included in the 14-member Indian team, skippered by Anil Kumble, at least for the first and possibly the second Tests against South Africa.
