Lenovo has released three new notebooks for small and medium businesses. They are the SL 300, SL 400 and SL 500 notebook PCs. This is the first time that Lenovo has made available its Think brand to small and medium businesses.

The largest gadget and electronics show, IFA is being held in Germany. This has provided a great platform to hardware manufacturers to unveil a slew of new products. Samsung has unveiled an ultra thin notebook, the X360. At 1.27 Kg it is literally lighter than the MacBook Air that weighs 1.36 kg.

Zenith Computers has announced the release of a laptop for as low as Rs 14, 999. This is the first time that a hardware manufacturer has been able to break the psychological barrier of Rs 20,000 with a Windows based Laptop.

Intex has launched a new series of notebooks in India. They consist of one model each in the Lifestyle, Gaming and Tablet Pad types and three models each in the Business book and Education notebook series.

The success of the Tata Nano is yet to be seen. However the efforts of the Tatas to bring out a car well within the reach of the common man have been lauded be everyone. Now an effort is being made to provide laptops at lesser than Rs500 to students for higher education.

Not to be left behind in the lap top market. Lenovo has launched a high end Lap Top, the Ideapad Y710 in the Indian Market. It has many unique features such as a swappable twin hard drive and the RAID function.
